# Set Trading Restrictions to Control Your Order Flow

> Control what you trade, how much, and when — with pre-trade validations that block non-compliant orders before they ever reach your broker.

<Info>
  All restrictions are validated in real time at the moment an order is submitted. Blocked orders are rejected the moment they are submitted to your broker but our system cannot prevent the submission of the orders from your trading platform. It can only react to detected orders and cancel them immediately.
</Info>

Trading restrictions control *what* and *when* you can trade, adding a rule-enforcement layer that sits directly in the order path. Every order you submit is validated against these restrictions in real time.

<Tip>
  Our system also offers custom control over many of the trading restrictions such as whitelisting certain instruments but blocking others as well. We also offer **Custom Trading Periods,** which allows you to define time windows that **override** the main Allowed Trading Hours window. **Block** periods prevent trading and optionally flatten positions when they begin. **Allow** periods permit trading even when outside the main window and optionally flatten when they end.
</Tip>

## Position Size

<ParamField body="Max Contract Size" type="integer">
  The maximum number of contracts allowed on any single order. Orders that exceed this size are cancelled. Use this to cap your exposure per trade and prevent accidental oversizing — for example, submitting 10 contracts when you intended 1.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="E-Mini Blocking" type="boolean">
  When enabled, blocks all orders for standard E-Mini contracts (ES, NQ, YM, RTY). This restriction is particularly useful when you intend to trade only Micro contracts (MES, MNQ, MYM, M2K) and want a hard safeguard against accidentally placing a full-size E-Mini order — which carries 10× the margin and risk of its Micro equivalent.
</ParamField>

## Trade Frequency

<ParamField body="Daily Trade Limit" type="integer">
  The maximum number of round-trip trades (one entry plus one exit) permitted per trading day. Once this count is reached, new orders are blocked for the remainder of the session. Use this to enforce trade selectivity and prevent overtrading after a set number of opportunities.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="Consecutive Loss Limit" type="integer">
  The maximum number of consecutive losing trades allowed. After this many losses in an unbroken sequence, trading is halted for the session. This restriction is designed to interrupt a losing streak before it compounds — forcing a break to reassess rather than continuing to trade while in a negative emotional or market state.
</ParamField>

## Time-Based

<ParamField body="Time Restriction" type="time range">
  Define a specific window of time during which trading is permitted. Orders submitted outside this window are rejected. Configure the start and end time along with your time zone to align the restriction with your intended trading session — for example, allowing orders only between 08:30 and 15:00 America/Chicago to avoid illiquid pre-market and after-hours periods.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="Allowed Trading Days" type="days of week">
  Select which days of the week trading is permitted on this account. Orders placed on any day not included in your selection are blocked. Use this to restrict trading to specific weekdays — for example, excluding Fridays to avoid weekend gap risk, or limiting activity to the highest-volume sessions.
</ParamField>
