Tradespace connects directly to your broker accounts to monitor positions, validate orders, and enforce your risk rules in real time. You can connect multiple accounts across different brokers and manage them all from a single Dashboard — no changes to your existing trading platform required.

Adding a Connection

1

Navigate to Connections

In the left sidebar, click Connections to open the account connections panel.
2

Click Add Connection

Click the Add Connection button in the top-right corner of the Connections page.
3

Select Your Broker

Choose your broker from the list: NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Rithmic, or ProjectX / Topstep.
4

Complete the Authentication Flow

Follow the broker-specific steps to authenticate. Depending on your broker, this will involve entering your trading credentials directly or completing an OAuth authorization (see Tradovate OAuth below for details).
5

Confirm Your Accounts Appear

Once the connection is established, your broker accounts will appear in the Connections list with a status indicator. They are also immediately available in the Dashboard and Risk Management panels as well as throughout our platform.

Managing Connections

After a connection is added, you can manage it at any time from the Connections page:
  • Enable / Disable — Toggle a connection on or off without removing it. Disabling is useful if you want to temporarily pause Tradespace monitoring for a specific account while keeping your configuration intact.
  • View Status — Each connection displays its current status (connected or disabled) or error if there are any authentication issues that will require re-authentication or re-connection.
  • Delete — Permanently delete a connection. Any risk settings linked to this account will not be deleted and are restored if you re-connect that same connection. This does not affect your broker account itself.
Disabling a connection pauses all Tradespace monitoring for the accounts linked to it. While a connection is disabled, your risk rules are not enforced — positions will not be auto-flattened, and orders will not be pre-validated. Only disable a connection when you are certain you do not need protection on those accounts. You will not be able to delete or disable a connection if there is any account in that connection with an active lockout and you must wait until all lockouts and all active accounts have been cleared before you can disable or delete the connection. This is to prevent evading risk management.

Tradovate OAuth

Tradovate uses what is called OAuth 2.0 authorization flow instead of direct credential entry. This means, when you add a Tradovate or NinjaTrader connection, either one redirects you to Tradovate own login page to grant Tradespace read and trading access. Tradespace never stores your Tradovate/NinjaTrader password — only the access token issued by Tradovate is retained.I

It’s possible our system may fail to renew your authentication with Tradovate. In the unlikely event this happens, our system will automatically email you alerting you and will show disconnected and an expired authentication status. You will be prompted to follow the re-authentication prompt and establish new authentication. No settings are affected by re-authenticating.
