If something isn’t working as expected, this guide covers the most common issues and how to resolve them. Work through the relevant section below before reaching out to support.

Broker Connection Issues

Work through the following steps in order:
1

Verify your credentials

Confirm you are using the correct login credentials for your broker account — not your Tradespace credentials.
2

Tradovate/NinajTrader: Re-authorize

Your OAuth token may have expired. Go to Connections, remove the Tradovate or NinjaTrader connection, and re-add it to trigger a fresh authorization.
3

Rithmic: Verify you have at least one active account.

Verify you have at least one active account. If you do not, you will not be able to connect. Also, verify your password is correct.
4

ProjectX: Verify you have an active API subscription.

Confirm your ProjectX credentials are correct and that your account has been approved for API access along with an active API subscription with ProjectX. You must pay a separate fee to ProjectX to access plus the subscription fee with the broker connecting through ProjectX (Topstepx and others).
5

Disable and re-add the connection

If the issue persists after the steps above, go to Connections, disable the connection entirely, wait a few moments, then re-add it from scratch or click the Reconnect or Re-Auth button
The broker connection may have timed out or been interrupted. To restore it:
  1. Go to Connections in the Tradespace sidebar.
  2. Find the affected connection and disable it.
  3. Toggle the connection back on and confirm the account status updates to Connected.
  4. If you are unable to disable, click the Reconnect or Re-Auth button.
If the disconnection recurs frequently, verify that your broker’s platform is online and accessible from your network and not experiencing any known issues. Intermittent disconnects can also be caused by broker-side maintenance windows.

Risk Management Issues

A lockout always corresponds to a specific rule violation. To investigate:
  1. Open the Dashboard and locate the affected account.
  2. Check the Lockout History to see which rule triggered the lockout and the exact time it occurred.
  3. Review your Risk Limits and Trading Restrictions settings to confirm the configured thresholds match your intent.
Common causes include a Daily Loss Limit set tighter than intended, a Trailing Daily Loss Limit that accumulated during the session, or a Daily Trade Limit being reached earlier than expected.
If your risk settings appear greyed out or changes are being blocked, one of the following locks is active on your account:
  • AutoLock — Automatically engages during your configured trading window. It ends automatically at the scheduled end time. Check the lock status indicator on your Dashboard.
  • Controls Lock — Manually activated and cannot be disabled until the lockout period ends.
If neither lock appears active but you still cannot make changes, your account may be in a Controls or Auto Lockout state, which also blocks all settings changes. Reload your page or contact support to verify. Wait for the lockout duration to expire.
Tradespace’s pre-trade validation is blocking the order. Common reasons include:
  • Max Contract Size — The order quantity exceeds your configured maximum.
  • E-Mini Blocking — E-Mini contracts are disabled for this account.
  • Time Restriction — The order is being placed outside your allowed trading hours.
  • Daily Trade Limit — You have reached the maximum number of trades allowed for the day.
Review the relevant settings under Risk Management for the affected account and adjust them if the restriction is unintentional.

Trade Copier Issues

Check each of the following before contacting support:
  1. Copy group is enabled — Confirm the toggle for your copy group is turned on.
  2. Leader account is connected — Go to Connections and verify the connection associated with the leader account shows as Connected and the account has an active broker status.
  3. Follower accounts are connected and unlocked — A follower in a locked state (violation lockout, manual lock) will not accept copied orders. Check each follower’s status on the Dashboard or Account & Risk Management page.
  4. Instrument mapping is configured — If the leader trades an instrument that differs from what the follower supports, verify the Instrument Conversion setting is correctly mapped (e.g., ES → MES).
The contract quantity on a follower is controlled by its individual Contract Quantity setting within the copy group:
  • A value of disabled dynamically matches the leader’s size on every trade.
  • Any positive number sets a fixed quantity or Multiplier regardless of what the leader trades.
Open the copy group configuration, locate the follower in question, and verify the Contract Quantity value matches your intended behavior.
TradeSync monitors the leader and follower positions continuously and flattens followers that become out-of-sync with the leader. If TradeSync is closing positions unexpectedly:
  1. Confirm the leader’s current position is what you expect. For example, if the leader is flat of if the leader is long and your follower is short, TradeSync will close follower positions to match if possible. Under certain circumstances including any of the limitations listed in the limitations section, this may not always occur and TradeSync may not be able to take corrective action.
  2. Check whether a partial fill, a rejected order, or a separate manual trade caused the follower to become out of sync.

General Issues

If your Dashboard appears stale or positions and P&L are not updating:
  1. Refresh the page — A simple browser refresh resolves most transient display issues.
  2. Check your internet connection — Tradespace requires a stable connection to stream live data. Confirm you have connectivity.
  3. Check for service disruptions — If the issue persists after refreshing, it may indicate a brief service-side disruption. Check for any posted status updates from Tradespace.
  4. Check your Connections page and make sure the connection shows Connected as the status. If there are any warning messages, try disabling the re-enable your account or click the Reconnect button if our system blocks you from disabling the account
If live data remains unavailable for an extended period, contact support with details about the affected accounts.
Still stuck? Contact Tradespace support by opening a support ticket in our live chat system. You will see a blue icon on the bottom left corner of the page. Include your account email, the affected broker and account name, and a clear description of the issue. Screenshots or screen recordings are always helpful.
