Why You Need TradeSync
Under normal conditions the Trade Copier keeps followers in lockstep with the leader. But several real-world scenarios can cause a follower’s position to diverge over time:- Partial fills: The leader gets fully filled, but the follower only receives a partial fill — leaving the follower holding fewer contracts than expected.
- Broker rejections: An order sent to the follower is rejected by the broker (for example, due to margin or connectivity), resulting in no position when one should exist.
- Connectivity interruptions: A brief disconnect between Tradespace and a follower’s broker means one or more copy signals are never received or acknowledged. This rarely happens but is possible.
How TradeSync Works
Tradespace constantly compares the leader’s open positions with each follower’s open positions. If the comparison reveals a mismatch that exceeds your configured tolerance, TradeSync steps in takes action to flatten that follower and prevent further trading on it until the leader’s position and orders are completely flattened. Corrective action means flattening the follower when the leader is flat or when the follower has any position or trade that does not match the leader. All TradeSync settings are per-follower.Manually Configuring TradeSync (coming soon).
We are working on releasing the ability for users to manually adjust TradeSync to fit their needs and adjust various settings to control how it works to best suit your needs.1
Open your copy group
Go to Trade Copier in the left sidebar and click the copy group you want to configure.
2
Expand the TradeSync section
Locate the follower account you want to configure and expand its TradeSync section.
3
Enable TradeSync
Flip the TradeSync toggle to enabled. Tradespace will now begin monitoring this follower’s positions against the leader.
4
Set Auto-Flatten behavior
Choose whether Tradespace should automatically flatten the follower’s position if the leader goes flat but the follower still holds an open position.
5
Set Auto-Rearm behavior
Choose whether TradeSync should automatically re-enable itself after performing a correction action, so monitoring resumes without manual intervention.
TradeSync Options
boolean
When enabled, Tradespace automatically flattens the follower’s open position if the leader’s position goes flat. This ensures the follower doesn’t remain exposed to the market after the leader has fully exited. See the warning below before enabling this on live accounts.
boolean
When enabled, TradeSync automatically re-enables itself after performing a correction action. Without Auto-Rearm, TradeSync disables after each correction and requires manual re-enabling before it will monitor again.
boolean
When enabled, Tradespace sends an alert notification whenever a position drift is detected between the leader and this follower. Use this to stay informed about mismatches even if you prefer to handle corrections yourself rather than using Auto-Flatten.
TradeSync settings above are not available yet but are coming soon.
